What Is The Abortion Pill?
The abortion pill method is a medication abortion that uses two drugs to terminate a pregnancy.
The first drug, mifepristone, blocks progesterone receptors. This hormone is necessary for a growing pregnancy to thrive. Without progesterone, the pregnancy dies.
The second drug, misoprostol, causes the uterus to contract and the body to bleed. This drug removes the pregnancy from your body.

How Does APR Work?
The Abortion Pill Reversal method uses high-dose progesterone to overcome the blocking action of the Mifeprex (mifepristone). Progesterone floods your body to, hopefully, out-compete the mifepristone and prevent the baby’s demise.
Is Abortion Pill Reversal (APR) Effective?
Yes, APR can be highly effective, but you must begin the process as quickly as possible after taking the first drug. If you have already taken the second drug, misoprostol, it may be too late to use the APR method.
The earlier you begin the APR process, the better your chance for success. Start as soon as possible within 72 hours of taking the first drug, mifepristone.
A case series of 754 patients has shown progesterone shots to have a reversal rate of 64%, and high doses of oral progesterone are the most effective, with reversal rates of 68%.
If you’re considering abortion pill reversal, don’t wait. Call Mosaic at 618.451.2002 or call the APR hotline 24/7 at 877-558-0333.
We do have a consent for women who have taken both mifepristone and misoprostol. High doses of progesterone will not reverse the effects of the misoprostol like it can the mifepristone. The misoprostol will have to wear off on its own, but the progesterone does support the pregnancy.
